On June 17th, we went to Wenlock School to represent our school at the English Literature Drama Event. In this event, we learnt more about Hans Christian Andersen who wrote many stories and died 150 years ago.
First, we listened to his story, “Thumbelina.” Then, we were divided into five groups, where we had the chance to meet and work with children from other schools. Each group had a different activity. One group worked on Andersen’s biography, another group focussed on the beginning of the story. A third group worked in the middle, a fourth group worked with the end of the story. The last group focussed on the moral of the story.
Afterwards, we had to create a script for the story using our own words, then we made some props, and finally we performed it to the 3rd grade pupils from Wenlock School. It was a very good and fun experience where we learned a lot and met new children.
